Notwithstanding the controversy generated over the first two, Bajrang Dal, the youth wing of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, has announced the launch of “bahu lao-beti bachao” campaign. Under it, they will “protect Hindu boys who marry Muslim or Christian girls” and will also create awareness among Hindu families “to protect their girls from falling in love or getting married to Muslim or Christian boys”. Bajrang Dal will launch the campaign from February 17 in Uttar Pradesh. Its office bearers here have already discussed the campaign at the “Hindu Sammelan” that the VHP recently organised across the country to mark its golden jubilee. A leader of Hindu Mahasabha today stoked a controversy saying Muslims and Christians must undergo sterilization to restrict their growing population which was posing a threat to Hindus. "The population of Muslims and Christians is growing day by day. To rein in this, Centre will have to impose emergency, and Muslims and Christians will have to be forced to undergo sterilisation so that they can't increase their numbers," vice president of All India Hindu Mahasabha, Sadhvi Deva Thakur told reporters here. MUMBAI: Some policemen allegedly beat up two Muslim youth at a police station in suburban Bandra and asked them to go to Pakistan for being "agents" of that country after they had a fight with the cops, prompting authorities to launch a probe into the incident. "A DCP began inquiring into the incident last evening and an appropriate action will follow," city Police Commissioner Ahmed Javed told PTI today. The incident happened in the wee hours of Saturday.
