An open letter from Gaza to the humanity
Oh people all over the world: if you have lived the boring 14 days in quarantine, then know that there are more than 2 million people in political quarantine in inhumane conditions for 14 years!
These people are the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Has the world understood the meaning of a person deprived of the freedom of movement?!,
Have people with health conditions experienced the meaning of paining and yet being denied treatment ?!
Have researchers, scholars, and students tasted the loss of their opportunities, conferences, seats, and missions ...?!
Have merchants, investors, and factory owners tasted the depression ?! ,
Did parents feel the bitterness of the denial of meeting with their children ?!
Did the workers and employees feel the tragedy of losing livelihoods due to the closure of the crossings and airports ?!
Likewise, Gaza, O humanity, besieged from the four corners since 2006, without an airport or a seaport, except from some very limited traffic through the Rafah crossing and the Beit Hanoun terminal!
All their fault was that they refused to surrender to the Israeli occupation, and chose freedom!
We are gloating at anyone - God forbids - we are a people that does not like to see any other people suffering of what we still suffer of. It is perhaps an opportunity imposed by destiny so that the world knows our suffering; that we cry from pain at the loudest voice, yet no one has yet responded to us ?!
Do you understand us, the world?!
We ask God to ease your anguish and agony sooner rather than later.
